What role is meant for us in the play of life?

מרדכי איתן קינן ז"ל

“Shalom Sivan, My name is Nirit, the mother of Mordechai Eitan z”l, who passed away at the age of 18 a year ago after a valiant struggle with a fatal disease.

We found many journals that he wrote for himself and I am attaching a few of his words that can give people strength, especially in the approach to Rosh Hashanah.

We are building a Beit Midrash (Torah study hall) in his name in Katzrin (in the Golan Heights) since it is important to me as his mother that his light should continue to radiate for others.

From this short message we can learn that every one of us has a different role in life. We alone determine how to respond to every situation and what we can learn from it. I wish for everyone to find joy and meaning in their role. Have a good and sweet new year.”

This is what is written in the photo, by Mordechai: "In the play of life I was not given the role of a king, I was given the role of a beggar, a sick patient,
But I will play my part in the best possible way,
I will not be just any patient,
Who does the usual things and feels sorry for himself,
Sleeping in bed, depressed, getting treatments, always at home, etc.

I will be a patient who moves around with joy, a happy patient. A patient with life! A patient who never gives up... Because here I make the rules!".
